About Ira:
Ira’s creative focus is 2D animation, mixed-media animation, and writing for visual media. His interests outside of animation and storytelling include unicycling, learning languages, watching Star Trek, learning about plants, and drifting through space.
Educational/Professional Summary:
Ira attained his Master of Fine Arts in Animation and Visual Effects. During his time in this program he created the short film “Un-Portalable!” which explores narrative integration of mixed media with a focus character driven writing. Previously, Ira attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with minors in Information Science and Film Studies. He frequently employs these areas of studies in his creation process.
During graduate school Ira was faculty advisor to the Knights Animate Club during which he supervised and advised undergraduate students in club management/organization, project/event execution, technology education, and animation feedback. Ira also served as pre-production lead graduate-faculty advisor for the UCF Character Animation undergraduate film “Ceramic Rabbit”, as well as the character designer and lead storyboard artist on “A New Light”
